How to create letters stop motion video using reverse method
Note: It’s a personal method and from personal experience.
Before you start, you need to think about what you want, then prepare the right amount of ingredients:
Letters
Number – how many letters, how many consonants, how many vowels.
Color – what color do you like it to be, do you like all of them to have the same or different color.
Size – do you want all the same size or some characters are large, some characters are small.
Length – the size of the letters affects the length of the entire phrase and it relates to the screen size of the recording device as well. So please make a character template and test it with the recording device you choose to use first.
Record equipment and orientation
Equipment – cell phone or camera
Orientation – landscape or portrait
Studio
At this point, you should watch articles or videos that teach how to set up a studio at home, as well as related points such as lights, background etc.
Preparation
– Write letters on paper then cut them into squares. All letters must be separated.
– The reverse mode (shown in this article) is filmed from above, so you need to find a way to install the camera (please see and learn how to record – from videos of the experts).
Note:
Keep the camera on top of the bulb if you use a flashlight when shooting. If the camera is placed under a light bulb, it will cast a shadow on the object or around object.
The camera must not be shaken, otherwise the captured image will not be smooth.
How to do
– Sort the characters in rows and click on the camera to take a photo of it.
– Drag each character down and click taking photo.
– Carry on doing it until all the letters are down and no longer visible on the camera screen.
Advice
When you click to take a photo or when you do anything, please do it slightly, slowly and one by one. Please don’t be in a hurry and please be patient.
When you drag the letters down, you should drag along the way, do not be afraid that it is not straight, it is crooked out of line, or this or that. All you have to do is drag it down in a short distance, slowly to the end of the screen. Other than that, let it go naturally.
Editing
– If you set up a studio well, you do not need to edit. Otherwise, you must edit the image after taking photos.
– Then you insert all images in the video editor. Since it is a reverse type, you must also use a reverse method. This means that you have to insert the last photo as the first image and do so until the first photo becomes the last one.
– Next, set the duration of each photo within the mist short duration.
– Then save it as a video.
